Digital Douche!

There is a problem on the Insignia Digital Photo Frame with model number NS-SPF10A.
The warning comes from Best Buy and the company is asking user to contact Insignia at 1-877-467-4289.
Seems this puppy may contain a virus that affects PC users, and I'm guessing your precious photos.
You can read more about it at MSNBC http://redtape.msnbc.com/2008/01/digital-picture.html

Best Buy has pulled the product from it's shelves, but there is no recall issued.

Sooooo glad I have a Mac ;)

What I like about the Iphone update

1.  Favorite thing the the ability to pinpoint your location by hitting the little target button, or the "pinpoint" tool. Then you can get directions from the pinpoint to another pinpoint (since usually the address isn't exactly known by numerical or zip code.
2.  I can make a webpage into a homescreen icon-sweet
Now I can easily access the latest games (which are still accessed through the internet, dumb)
or put my bank on home page for fast loading

3.  Seperate home screens
All my web pages go on their own homescreen, and icons I never use (like Youtube) can get out of my face. sorry youtube lovers

mac changed image capture, saves as .png (eeek!)

Some like this better because compression ratios and saving pics to website...blah, blah, blah, I don't.
Thanks to Pixel It Digital, I found a easy way to switch to what you want.
1. Open Applications-Utilities-Terminal and launch it
(You see your terminal and all your last login and your computer id with a $)
2. Now type in (with your 1, just 1 choice of formats-.pdf, .jpg, .tiff, .bmp...
defaults write com.apple.screencapture type (.pdf, or .jpg, .tiff, or .bmp...)
3. Restart your computer. Just Kidding! (I know Jag. takes forever to reload!) You don't really have to restart the computer...
That's All Folks!
Your screen captures will be in .jpg, or whatever you chose
In case you need another website to reassure you
Also if you didn't know, you can open a program called "Grab" in utilities to capture screenshots

So I lost my Iphone...

i finally got over it enough to put it into words.

Went to Niketown to buy shoes. Blessed by parking-lot gods, got a space right by the door to ther mall and the store was the first one inside on left. Yes!
You know how it is, you get distracted, got the shoes, now need outfit. I tried on a million, and decided on none.
Just got the shoes, that and and a warm fleece top for working-out when outside.
Walked back to my car. Got home and laid down for an our. Awoke to a start.
Where's my phone?
Trashed the house for an hour, called the store, "no we don't see anything, why don't you call back tomorrow?"
WHAT!@#$

This is an IPHONE!
The world is supposed to stop, Right????
Get in my sportscar and USE it to fly to the store.

Whatever, they still don't find it.
Interesting that nobody in the store heard of a missing phone that the manager said he asked everbody about. He didn't even ask for a name and number in case it showed up. I had to force him to take the information.
Went home.
Cried.
Called AT&T and shut the phone plan off.

When I get a new one (bought, not replaced by insurance, yes Darvin at AT&T was shocked when I said I needed another one because it was lost...already)
When turned phone on the agent told me while phone was in "missing" phase someone made 6 calls to a hispanic private school in California. There was no answer it looked like since they were all charges for 1 minute.
Interesting.

I check my phone on my person every 10 seconds now.

don't know what you got till it's gone never rang so true.
i never felt this way when i lost my old treo

The case of the Iphone

I hunted high and low. I searched the internet for hours, pouring over reviews and stores. What everyone wants is a Vaja I-volution. It will take awhile to collect funding for that now as I just got the phone...

I went to the Apple store today. My email was no longer sending anything.
The store was packed with holiday shoppers and I thought I'll never get attention. I headed to browse the cases. Soon I hear my sister say, Hey this guy says he can help. I told him my issues and he let me pick through cases and soon came back with another mac associate and he led me to a computer and fixed my email problems quickly.

I went back to cases.
Some were quite hideous, others were cute, but no substance.
I picked up a orange one, perfect. Except for the color, screaming Orange.
Then I see one in screaming green.
Of course my sister finds the one in black.

Sold.

I have the Contour Showcase with the anti-glare film by Power Support.
The case is a neoprene like glove that is thin, non-slip, and holes in perfect locations. It comes with a holster w/beltclip.
THANK-YOU  for including the holster, not selling it separately!
What I like is the beltclip not only swivels, but the phone can also be placed in the holster facing into it or outward.

The addition of the screenguard polishes off the cover. It provides clear protection, and I wouldn't have thought to ask for non-glare, just bonus. Plus you can wash it if it gets dirty.

I'm happy.

Still saving for my I-volution though.

Trying the iphone bluetooth earpiece!

The packaging is so nice. I feel like it shoud be a diamond watch worth millions, the way it's packaged.
I have small ears so you know in comparison to yourself.
When I put the earpiece in, it feels tight. When I walk around trying to cook, it gets loose and I think it feels like it's going to fall out. Maybe that's just the way it is. I take out the trash and go back to cooking. It feels wrong. I look in the mirror and as I reach for it, the earpiece falls out in my hand. Geez.
I watch tv and call sis. She hears me fine, as I do her. She says she hears the television, but it's not distracting.
Despite it feeling tight in my ear, the earpiece gets loosened easily.
The next day I put a foam cover on it. MUCH better. It stops the slipping. Despite how others forget it's in their ear, I know it's there. It is not painfully incomfortable, but I can only keep it in an hour or so before it gets too  irritating.
I make a call from a restaurant at lunchtime. It's fairly noisy, but you can talk to the person at your table without problems.
You can't talk on the phone without problems. My sister said she could hear the background way better that she could hear me!
I couldn't hear her that well either.
When near a running car it wasn't bad on either end.
I could walk away from my phone about 50 feet before I heard the beeping signaling I've gone out of range.
Which can be helpful if you're like me and leave stuff everywhere.
I think I need soemthing with better noise cancellation features.
